#TeamHorticulture Receives FREE Legal Advice!
Dear GardenComm member,
Hope you are well and the holiday season is bringing you a flurry of business and good works in garden writing!
I am sending you a friendly reminder as your GardenComm Membership Committee Chair that “Tis the season” to renew your membership. Act now and save! Dues will be rising in 2020 yet we have saved the current rate of $115 for all who renew in December 2019.
There are many membership benefits to promote, and comradery with colleagues is my favorite. However, the one I found to be a true asset this fall was our Free Legal advice. I had an opportunity come up rather spontaneously, to speak at a local high school’s art classes as part of their landscape design curriculum. Due to the school-age audience, I needed to revise sections of my speaking contract, and was able to run it by GardenComm’s legal counsel quickly and efficiently – and for free! I was grateful to be able to respond to my new client promptly without being delayed by a search for the right attorney.
C.L. Fornari, who has been a longtime Membership Committee leader and now serves GardenComm as Treasurer, reminds us, "I know from my own experience that being a member of GardenComm furthers careers in horticulture and garden communications. Members benefit professionally from networking with others, getting the inside information about new plants or products, and from the learning opportunities for skills building. But beyond developing your personal career and brand, I believe that this organization is important for the future of gardening and how the public understands the world of plants. If you want to be a part of a garden revival, join #TeamHorticulture…we’re cultivating a world that’s #gardenstrong."
Renew today! If you have any questions, I am happy to help, and please be sure to let me know if your GardenComm work brings you through Dallas in the New Year.
