Denise Schreiber is a graduate of Community College of Allegheny College and Carlow University, the greenhouse manager and horticulturist for Allegheny County Parks in Pittsburgh before retiring, which covers over 12,000 acres of park land. She was responsible for growing over 450,000 plants for the parks and other county facilities as well as speaking and holding classes and other events for the public. Denise is a national speaker, an All-America Selections Trial Judge, an Retired International Certified Arborist, a county fair judge and licensed applicator. She was the Ask the Expert and contributing editor for Pennsylvania Gardener Magazine before the magazine ended. She is also Mrs. Know It All of The Organic Gardeners on KDKA radio and the author of Eat Your Roses, Pansies, Lavender and 49 Other Delicious Flowers. Denise has been a member of GardenComm since 2001 and has volunteered in various capacities including Regional and National Director, AOC committee, nominations committee and various one off committees.
In her spare time, she just likes to sit out in her own garden and watch lightning bugs.
