Home and gardens of Pamela Harper: Noted garden author, photographer, and lecturer, Pam Harper is above all, a dedicated and serious gardener. Her two-acre garden is filled with a mixture of time-tested trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and bulbs well-suited to hot and humid Virginia summers. It is both a garden and laboratory, a peaceful retreat and a vibrant classroom. Notebooks and pencils definitely required!
Home and business of Liza Ziegler: Lisa has been growing and selling fresh flowers from her garden and field for years. She has figured out how to keep the new crops coming as the older ones begin to fade. She has also become quite successful in increasing her earnings by sharing her knowledge with others via webinars.
Home and garden Linda and Bill Pinkham: Linda hybridizes daylilies, Bill makes beautiful pottery and together they have created 6 acres of unbelievably lovely art-filled garden areas that surround their home, which overlooks the James River in the distance.
Lancaster Farms Nursery and Video and Time-lapse studio: A full-scale wholesale nursery providing quality plants for retailers near and far; the owner’s other passion is supporting the Green Industry as a whole by ‘telling stories about the people behind the plants’ through videos shared with everyone via the internet. We will hear and see their story.
Norfolk Botanical Garden: The story of how this garden began is known only to a few, which will be shared with us. It has developed into a world-class garden – 150 acres strong, which we will easily visit via trollies and close-ups of any area we’d like to see.
