Option 1: Plant Research & North Garden Tour
Tour Utah State University Extension’s Utah Botanical Center in Kayesville, Utah to learn more about the “right” plants for the Intermountain West. The ever-expanding garden incorporates plant research facilities, trial grounds for vegetables and annual flowers and community demonstration gardens. Enjoy visits to several private gardens that showcase how Davis County residents garden on the edge between mountain and desert.
Option 2: New Urbanist Tour
Head out to the suburbs of Southwest Salt Lake County to see how Utah is handling the challenges that come with a burgeoning population and a limited water supply. Our first stop will be the Conservation Garden Park, a garden dedicated to teaching Utahns how to implement attractive water-efficient landscapes. Next, we’ll venture out to Daybreak, a massive new community that demonstrates how to incorporate shared public and private gardens into walkable, charming network of neighborhoods.
